Evaluación del producto químico hymexazol y del producto biológico Trichoderma harzianum para controlar el Damping off en plantas de arrayán (Myrcianthes hallii (O. Berg) McVaugh).

Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate the chemical product Hymexazol and the biological product Trichoderma harzianum for the control of Damping off in Arrayán plants (Myrcianthes hallii (O. Berg) McVaugh). A completely randomized experimental design was used with three treatments and three repetitions, where an analysis of variance was carried out to determine the statistical difference between means. The Tukey test was used at 5% significance, the trial was located within the shade house of the nursery. The first treatment corresponded to the application of Trichoderma harzianum, the second to the application of Hymexazol, and the third to the control. After that, the calculations of the doses for the applications were made, and the data recording of the variables plant height, number of leaves, and number of shoots in periods of every 15 days. Physical-chemical analysis of the substrate was also carried out. The percentage of survival was evaluated, the incidence of the disease, the intensity of the attack through direct observation at 45 days, and an economic analysis between the treatments. The results showed that there were no significant differences for the treatments, in height, number of leaves, and shoots with the exception of the number of outbreaks at 15 days, where the best number of outbreaks was obtained in the chemical control; with the application of Trichoderma harzianum the intensity of the Damping off attack decreased. Thus, controlling the incidence of the disease and being the best treatment economically. It was concluded that the best treatment to control Damping off was the biological control Trichoderma harzianum. So, it was recommended to carry out investigations with this control in native plants of Ecuador.
