Asociación entre el ambiente obesogénico familiar con el estado nutricional de niños de 2 a 5 años de edad, atendidos en el Centro de Salud Satelital-Tena, en el segundo semestre 2021.

Abstract

The research work aims to associate the obesogenic family environment with the nutritional status of children from 2 to 5 years of age, attended at the Satelital-Tena Health Center, in the second semester 2021. This is an associative research work since the relationship between the obesogenic environment and the nutritional status of the target population was described, and it has a descriptive non-experimental design. The population under study is the total universe of children aged 2 to 5 years who were attended at the Centro de Salud satelitalTena, during the period of the second semester of the year 2021, it was observed that 58% of them were diagnosed with low risk of obesogenic environment, while 42% of the remaining population presents a moderate risk of obesogenic environment. The relevant data regarding the nutritional status in the Body Mass Index (BMI) indicator for age, 62% presented a normal nutritional status, while 22.9% were overweight and 14.4% obese. The 67.5% of the population has an adequate weight for height, while 20.4% is overweight and 11.4% obese. According to Pearson's non-parametric Chi-square test, there is a significant correlation between the obesogenic environment and BMI/E in this research, with a significance of p=0.03 < 0.05. This means that the hypothesis of this research is accepted.
