Diagnóstico educativo sobre maltrato infantil, en niños de la Unidad Educativa San Juan Bautista, parroquia San Juan 2019

Abstract

The aims in the present thesis work is to diagnose the knowledge or behaviors about child abuse in children of the San Juan Educational Unit of the San Juan parish. The universe was 96 legally registered boys and girls with a sample size of 77 students; the study was descriptive exploratory of cross section. Through a survey, knowledge, behaviors and characteristics about child maltreatment were determined. The students were between 8 to 11 years old, all the students belonged to the rural area. In a high index 75% of the population belongs to the catholic religion. Data was also obtained on the rights of children and it is known that 5 out of 14 students do not know their rights. In the characteristics and behaviors of child maltreatment as a result it was found that 90% experienced some type of maltreatment among the most relevant were physical, psychological and sexual. The place where more abuse is detected is in the home and school, the people who attack with greater frequency are the parents and companions, 35% of the population tends to remain isolated or alone at home after receiving mistreatment; thus they also present submissive behaviors in front of the problem. A communication strategy was designed through a story with actions and messages to protect children against some type of abuse for subsequent campaigns against child abuse, being validated in a selected audience with 95, 2% acceptability. For what is recommended with this strategy is to raise awareness in the in the educational community about the importance they should provide their students promoting their rights and welfare they have.
