Evaluación de dos diferentes marcas de acidificantes para mejorar la calidad de agua en gallinas ponedoras en la avicola La Ponderosa.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to evaluate two brands of acidifiers in drinking water to improve the productive characteristics of laying poultry hens. It was carried out in the installations of the poultry house La Ponderosa, where two houses were used. It was worked with 652 birds of posture of the line Lohmann Brown of sixty weeks of age, which was considered two gallons of 18000 birds each, where the comparison of two different acidifiers was made when applied daily in the drinking water, for a period of 60 days (9 weeks) respectively. Once the product was applied, the data were taken every weeks, to compare the different acidifiers, the following variables were determined such as initial weight of the bird, weight gain, weight of the egg, percentage of broken eggs, percentage of dirty eggs, percentage of egg production, fees conversion, mortality and cost benefit. That is why the acidification of drinking water in birds is of utmost importance as is the case of laying hens because it helps maintain balance in the intestinal flora, constituting an important nutrient for its correct development and thus have good productive and reproductive parameters. The experimental data were submitted by the T-student test to (P<0.01) and (P>0.05). The best result were obtained when evaluating acidifier 1, compared to acidifier 2 since it presented significant statistical differences in the final weight of the bird of 2038 g, eggs production of 88,85%, percentage of broken eggs of 0,32% and a benefit/cost of 1,58 USD. It was concluded that acidifier 1, presented ideal productive parameters in birds of posture and better profitability. It is recommended to use acidifiers in feed for future research.
