Estudio de factibilidad para crear un centro de acopio de palmito para la Asociación de Palmicultores de la Amazonía Ecuatoriana “APAE”, año 2021

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the feasibility of creating a palm heart collection center for the Asociación de Palmicultores de la Amazonía Ecuatoriana APAE (Association of Palm Growers of the Ecuadorian Amazon). To achieve this objective, non-experimental and transversal research with a qualitative approach was carried out with a survey of the 46 associates of the entity, allowing us to know the status of the collection and storage of hearts of palm. It was found that the association does not have the necessary equipment and technology to carry out these processes adequately, causing the loss of part of the production during the low-teach handling of the product. Additionally, a technical, administrative, and financial study was carried out, concluding that the project to create the collection center is feasible since a positive NPV of 50,802.51 USD was obtained, an IRR of 25.91%, higher than the 11.37% established as the AMR, a PR of 3 years, 9 months, and 10 days and a BCR that indicates that the entity would obtain 1.09 USD of benefits for each dollar spent. For this reason, due to the good results of the above indicators, it is recommended that the creation of the heart of palm collection center be implemented, as well as maintaining strict control over the projections made, and if necessary, make the appropriate modifications if the terms under which they were created change
