Evaluación de raciones alternativas para la alimentación de cuyes en las etapas de crecimiento- engorde.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to evaluate the use of alternative rations for the feeding of guinea pigs in the growth-fattening stages. The experimental units consisted of a total of 80 guinea pigs of which 40 were males and 40 females. A completely random design was applied, in combination of factors, where factor A was the alternative rations, and factor B was the sex, with 4 repetitions and 4 treatments associated with the different percentages of alternative rations differentiated as T1 (Maize leaf 20%, Broccoli leaf 20% and alfalfa 60%), T2 (Corn leaf 30%, Broccoli leaf 30% and Alfalfa 40%), T3 (Corn leaf 40%, Broccoli leaf 40% and Alfalfa 20%) and T4 (Corn leaf 50%, Broccoli leaf 50%) comparing them with a control treatment, the measurement of alternative rations was carried out daily in the morning at 7:30 the productive parameters of each treatment were also evaluated. For the statistical analysis, the experimental results were submitted to an analysis of variance (ADEVA) and separation of means according to Tukey`s methodology at a level of significance (P≤0.05), resulting in significant differences in the food conversion variable while for the rest of the variables we found highly significant differences. It is concluded that the best treatment is that of the male guinea pigs that were fed with T2, since they contribute to improve the rates of food conversion without affecting the productive behavior of the semituents. It is recommended that the results obtained from this research be disseminated to small and medium-sized producers of guinea pigs.
