Estudio de factibilidad para la implementación de un resort en el sector Samana, parroquia Poalo, cantón Latacunga, provincia de Cotopaxi.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the feasibility of implementing a resort in Samana, Poalo village, Latacunga cantón, in order to offer a tourist service with adequate biosecurity measures in an area where there is a lot of comercial activity thanks to the interconnection of roads such as the E-35 road, in such a way that it would generate a benefit for itself and for the population surrounding the establishment. In fact, a market study was conducted targeting 43.34% of the PEA of the canton and national tourists who came to Cotopaxi National Park in 2019, the sample size was 357 people, and 88% mentioned that they want the implementation of the resort. On the other hand, the potential demand was 180,435 tourists, and the supply of 31,390 places available annually, giving an unsatisfied demand of 157,974 tourists, saying to satisfy 12% of this demand the objective demand was determined, and with it the distribution and capacity of all tourist services that the resort would offer. The establishment was named “Resort del Mashca” and was established as a limited liability company. On the other hand, in the economic evaluation, it was concluded that the project would require an initial investment of $688,434.95, obtaining as equity capital $261,549.01, for which means that, for each dollar invested, a profit of $4.11 ctvs would be obtained, finally it was determined that the capital recovery period would be two years and nine months. In accordance with all these data it is concluded that the resort would be viable and at the same time it would be recommended to create strategic alliances with other entities in the tourism area in the village and the canton.
