Evaluación de potencial y propuesta de aprovechamiento turístico para la parroquia Río Negro, cantón Baños de Agua Santa, provincia de Tungurahua.

Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate the tourism potential of the Río Negro village, Baños de Agua Santa canton, Tungurahua province, for which the situational diagnosis was carried out taking into account the 5-star methodology, starting with the collection of information in the physical-spatial, ecological- territorial, economic-productive and political-administrative areas. In addition, the natural and cultural tourist attractions were identified, classified and registered using the methodology proposed by the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR), then information, weighting and ranking of attractions were obtained by analyzing supply and demand, and proposals were made for use according to the needs of the territory by analyzing national and international regulations. As a result, it can be seen that there are 11 inventoried attractions that are an important part of the tourist activity, in the village, there are 7 natural attractions and 4 cultural attractions. Therefore, the market study showed that 7253 of those surveyed are willing to visit the village mainly for nature tourism. To sum up, the tourist offer of the village consists mostly of natural attractions, the existing demand is that which visits the cantonal capital of Baños de Agua Santa, where 86.5% of domestic tourists are willing to visit it, as well as 80.3% of foreign tourists. So, it is recommended to design tourism products taking into account the tourist profile presented in this paper and the existing tourist attractions and tourist plants to generate productive linkages.
