Plan de desarrollo turístico para la parroquia Cacha, provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

This technical work aimed to elaborate a tourism development plan for Cacha village, Chimborazo province; for which the diagnosis of the territory was made by reviewing secondary information where the current situation of the territory was analyzed in five areas: Environmental, Economic, Social, Political and Cultural (heritage), based on the methodology proposed by the Municipalities Association of Ecuador; in the same way, for the hierarchy of tourist attractions the methodology proposed by the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador was used; with the help of those involved in the tourist activity. In addition, the situation of this activity in the village was analyzed through participatory workshops; finally, the logical framework methodology was applied for the approach of programs and projects. As a result, several factors that directly and indirectly affect the wellbeing of the population were identified, such as the deficiency of basic services, scarcity employment, sources which has caused a worrying migration of the population, the existence of 15 natural and 13 cultural tourist attractions of hierarchy I and II, distributed throughout the village; the problems that directly affect the development of the tourist activity are: poor state conservation of the attractions, non-existence of a tourism development plan. To sum up, based on the previous results 7 programs and 10 tourism development projects were structured; this plan is an important instrument for the development of tourism activity in the village, and thus improves the quality of life of the population, so it is recommended the implementation of the tourism development plan.
