Diseño de una propuesta de innovaciones para la señalética turística en la parroquia Río Negro, cantón Baños de Agua Santa, provincia de Tungurahua.

Abstract

This research proposes the design of tourist signage with innovations for Río Negro parish, Baños de Agua Santa Canton, Province of Tungurahua. This innovation was made in the natural attractions which were inventoried in the parish. These were validated through several in-situ visits, with the monitoring the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador (MINTUR) files, where their categories, infrastructure, services and signage were selected. Two types of signage were designed for the natural attractions obtained from the MINTUR manual and the National System of Protected Areas (SNAP), by means of designed sheets with fields such as materials, dimensions, type of signage and codes for the respective thematic maps. The innovation part was carried out with Quick Response (QR) codes obtained through the free program available for Android and iPhones. In addition, a web page was created on the Wix.com portal, totally free of charge, with environmental information. This page is an social aid allowing that people with disabilities do not feel excluded when visiting the tourist attractions, providing them a responsible and quality tourism. 8 natural attractions were validated in the parish, which lacked tourist signage and the type of them was identified depending on the accessibility to the attraction. At the end, 32 signs were designed using the Adobe Illustrator program, the budget was obtained through the quotation of the materials and the cost of the signage. It is concluded that through the implementation of innovative tourist signage in the natural attractions contributes to the potential of the parish's tourism, helping to improve the quality and services offered by them. It is It is recommended to implement signage in the attractions to provide a good service to tourists.
