Análisis del uso racional de analgésicos antiinflamatorios no esteroides en consulta externa del centro de salud tipo b Santa Rosa-Riobamba

Abstract

The objective of this research was to analyze the rational use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in the outpatient area of the Santa Rosa-Riobamba Health Center during the period July-October 2019, through a retrospective, field, cross-sectional, descriptive and quantitative study. The sample consisted of 782 medical prescriptions of patients who met the inclusion criteria, the data obtained were tabulated using the Excel 2013 program as a tool, in addition the PowToon program was used for the development of an educational video about the rational use of NSAIDs. It was found that 10.48% of the prescriptions contained prescription errors, with patient identification being the category with the highest percentage of prescription errors (22.22%) and in a lower percentage the omission of the physician's signature (1.48%). The groups of pathologies were categorized according to the ICD 10 code, identifying that the factors influencing the state of health (32.72%) are in the highest percentage and with lower percentage trauma, poisoning and consequences of external cause (2.62%), finally, the educational video prepared trained 1 biochemist pharmacist, 3 physicians and 2 dentists on a voluntary basis. It was concluded that there is an irrational use of drugs due to the prescription errors identified, and that there was no correlation between some groups of diseases with the prescription of NSAIDs, which can cause adverse effects and drug-drug interactions with other drugs prescribed together with them. The development of protocols to promote rational use of NSAIDs is recommended.
