Análisis de la situación actual de la gestión de la seguridad y salud ocupacional de las MIPYMES en la ciudad de Riobamba

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the current situation of occupational health and safety management in MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) in the city of Riobamba. In orden to carry out this objective, the following MSMEs were selected as representative of the city of Riobamba: the micro company Almacenes Comandato, the small company Pollos GUS and the medium company Constructora Proyecta. In each of them, an interview was conducted with the manager and a survey of his staff in orden to know his current management. After applying the research instruments, it was found that Almacenes Comandato has 79% showing that it has a better Occupational Health and Safety management compared to Pollos Gus with 71% and Constructora Proyecta with 51% of compliance with current regulations of the Ministry of Labor, which were the Executive Decree 2393 and ISO 45001:2018. Overall, the results show that there is a need to improve the compliance rate of MSME's even though they all have security policies, at certain points one company is compliant at a higher level than the other; however, all three have an average level as expected. It is recommended to optimize certain aspects such as training of personnel and to continuously update occupational health and safety policies to raise the level of compliance of companies.
