Estudio de oferta y demanda de trasporte mixto para el cantón Penipe provincia de Chimborazo

Abstract

The objective of the present study was to develop a technical study of supply and demand for mixed transport through field research that allows improving mobility and satisfying the need for the transport service in Penipe Canton, province of Chimborazo, for which it was necessary to use the methodology proposed by the National Transit Agency, which is the regulator and is in charge of controlling mixed commercial transport. The first step was to define the target population and estimate the sample for conducting surveys that allowed determining the current situation of the study area by applying a total of 358 surveys, taking into account the zoning according to the Mobility Plan of Penipe. In the development of the investigation, it was determined that there is an imbalance between the supply and demand of the mixed commercial transport service, the demand being greater than the supply, therefore the creation of a mixed cargo transport operator is feasible in the canton, this operator will benefit all the parishes including the Bilbao parish that lacks of a public transportation service, it will be located in Penipe, 0.33 km from the E490 state road and the central park as here it is located the terminal of the canton. For the provision of mixed public and commercial land transportation service, a double cab truck will be considered as a vehicle, which must meet certain requirements as provided by the National Transit Agency
