Análisis prospectivo del índice de producción de legumbres Post COVID -19 en el cantón Píllaro bajo un enfoque de seguridad alimentaria.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to carry out a prospective analysis of the legume production indices in the Santiago de Píllaro canton, focused on contributing to food security. The methodology consisted, on the one hand, in conducting surveys by applying a questionnaire with questions regarding the current situation of legume production in the canton and, on the other hand, in the use of a Mic Mac predictive software, which through the weighing of the influence vs. the incidence of variables related to the problem projects the variables with the greatest impact that must be mitigated or treated to solve the problem in the short, medium and long term through a morphological analysis. The analysis of the surveys and the variables with the greatest impact defined by the MICMAC software revealed that the production index of broad beans, beans and peas are subject to: Harvest status- VA4, Type of legume cultivated-VA2, Production quantity - VA3 and Cost of sale - VA5. The tabulation of the surveys in dependence on the impact variables revealed the following: Producers sell in a range of $ 20.00 to $ 50.00 per year at 20kg bag of broad beans, peas or beans and an average of 55% of those surveyed sell 4 to 10 bags per year. To conclude, the production of these legumes in the long term could reduce their availability, which is one of the dimensions of food security. The latter is due to the fact that sales costs and the quantity of products sold affect the maintenance or loss of the production of these items.
