Elaboración de una guía de formulaciones magistrales tipificadas tópicas para la farmacia del Hospital Pediátrico "Alfonso Villagómez Román" de Riobamba

Abstract

The purpose of this research study was to elaborate a guide of typified magisterial formulations for the pharmacy of the Hospital Pediátrico Alfonso Villagómez Román of the city of Riobamba. Pharmaceutical services within hospital institutions are aimed to improve the primary care of sterile and non-sterile drugs within the pharmacy area. The guide was the product of the evaluation carried out on the dermatological pathologies treated in the health unit using the institution's pharmacotherapeutic profile through direct observation and interviews with medical personnel. It was found that topical therapies are not individualized in their doses. Despite the obvious difference in physiology and morphology between the attended patients, leading to ADRs (Adverse Drug Reactions) were not documented but based on the abrupt suspension of topical treatment. Also, it was found a difference in the criteria of the medical staff before the pharmacological treatment to the same pathology, thus giving errors in therapeutic effectiveness, after having analyzed the magisterial formulations available in various governmental and private institutions available. The Guide to topical typified magisterial formulations was prepared, which was revised and approved by Pharmaceutical Biochemical Professionals focused on the Pharmacotechnical part of the Hospital Pediátrico Alfonso Villagómez Román. It is recommended to the Health Unit Management the immediate implementation of this guide and the expansion of the content of the same with magisterial formulations corresponding to another way of administration.
