Evaluación del nivel de ruido de fondo y ambiental proveniente de las unidades educativas en la ciudad de Echeandía

Abstract

The sound pressure level generated in four Educational Units (EU) from Echeandía county was determined in order to identify places with the greatest noise pollution and implement a noise minimization plan. The baseline was determined through the use of statistical tools and inspections, then it was necessary to monitor the ten points of each EU, it was also necessary to consider the period of time with the highest sound pressure peak level (NPS) 07H-08H00, 10H00-11H00 and 12H00-13H00; the data obtained was processed with the methodology detailed in the 097-A Ministerial Agreement. The highest LKeqs recorded are: point 6, “5 de Octubre” EU, 10H00-11H00 with 85 dB (A) LKeq, point 9, “Sabanetillas” EU, 07H00-08H00 with 92, 3 dB (A) LKeq, point 6, “Adolfo Páez” EU, 10H00-11H00 with 95.6 dB (A) LKeq and point 4, “Galo Plaza Lasso” EU, 07H00-08H00 with 83.7 dB (A) LKeq. The values obtained were contrasted with the permissible limits, specified in the standard, the results revealed that only point 6, 07H00-08H00 with 49.9 dB (A) LKeq and point 7, 10H00-11H00 with 51.8 dB (A) LKeq, “meet” the permissible limit; while the other points "do not meet". The existence of an evident noise problem in the study area was determined; therefore, it was necessary to implement a noise minimization plan in order to reduce noise pollution. It is recommended to check the sound level meter before and after the monitoring of each point.
