Auditoría de seguridad vial en el tramo: Calpi – el Arenal, de la vía E35

Abstract

The objective of this study was to carry out a road safety auditing plan along Calpi-El Arenal E35. To do this, the information was collected up to kilometer 31 where it was determined the existing shortcomings about road and geometric infrastructure in relation with traffic accidents that occurred in this area along with technical parameters such as: alignment and cross section, intersection, vertical signaling and lighting, horizontal signals, side zones and containment barriers, pedestrians and cyclists, pavements and parking lots , provision for heavy vehicles, etc. The sections with the highest insecurity index presented problems such as: lack of vertical and horizontal signaling or in turn deteriorating, deteriorated sound assistants, adverse weather conditions on the abscissa 025 + 000-031 + 000, lack of speed bumps and infrastructure shortages for pedestrians with abscissa 004 + 300-006 + 200 respectively. Therefore, it was determined that it is important to carry out a road safety auditin plan for the pre-construction of projects to reduce the risk of traffic accidents in the future. With the results obtained after the safety auditing plan about the analysis of the road infrastructure and signaling, it is recommended to take into account the solution alternatives shown in the chart which addresses safety aspects in terms of signaling in order to help drivers to protect their safety throughout a trip.
