Estudio técnico para el direccionamiento y jerarquización vial del casco urbano del cantón la Maná, provincia de Cotopaxi

Abstract

This study focused on the direction and road hierarchy of the urban area in La Maná canton, which aims to establish a technical study with the necessary parameters to regulate traffic and mobility within the urban area of the canton which was carried out through a technical analysis of roads that make up the urban area with the assistance of established regulations and parameters needed for the project. For this study, it was necessary to carry out a diagnosis of the current situation of roads in the central part of the La Maná canton, for which surveys were applied to the population to determine which avenues show major problems. It was also necessary apply a survey of information through inspection sheets that were taken by previously determined sections and thus obtain the exact geometric and technical characteristics of the evaluated sections of road, within which it was noticed that most are secondary roads and local roads as these characteristics comply with the technical parameters established to be part of this type of road. Once the field investigation with the observation files has been concluded, it was determined that there are three main avenues: 19 de Mayo, Esmeraldas and Amazonas avenues, and an inventory for both horizontal and vertical signaling is determined. With all the information collected and based on the INEN regulations that currently govern, it was possible to determine the aspects to improve the hierarchy and direction of the central area of the canton and then a template was established with the necessary economic budget to launch this project.
