Modelo logístico para la operación de la empresa de transporte de carga pesada Brisa del Oriente Bridelor S.A

Abstract

The purpose of this research work was to design a logistic operation plan for “Trans Brisa del Oriente Bridelor S.A.” to provide a better service for the transportation of heavy cargo by road, positioning the company among the highest strata in the competition. The information obtained to know the current situation of the organization was conducted through 2 methodologies. The first was an interview with the manager to get a clear overview of the system he currently manages, as well as the importance of logistics in providing the service offered. The second methodology was the observation form in which it was possible to confirm more firmly how the merchandise is handled when the client requests the service. The data and information obtained were useful for the design of a logistics operation plan since it showed that the lack of knowledge of the benefits of including logistics within the company is directly affecting the guarantee of quality service in terms of time and costs. It was concluded that, by choosing to implement a logistics model, the company will increase its customer portfolio and therefore its economic income since this model guarantees safety, quality, and reliability from the time the service is contracted. It is recommended to permanently update and deepen the information presented since logistics is little applied in companies that provide heavy freight transportation services.
