Estudio de necesidad de transporte comercial, en la zona rural del cantón Pallatanga provincia de Chimborazo

Abstract

This investigation aims to develop a case study about the need for commercial transportation through a field research to improve the transportation system in rural areas of Pallatanga canton, province of Chimborazo. For this study, a field investigation was carried out with the application of surveys to the economically active population of the canton through a sample of 366 people from different rural areas, to drivers that provide the service, and interviews applied to public officers of the Transportation Department at the Gobierno Autónomo Municipal Descentralizado de Pallatanga (GAD) which allowed obtaining reliable information that provided a clear perspective about the current situation of the transportation system. To determine the required vehicle fleet, the formulas and policies applied were established by the Agencia Nacional de Tránsito, obtaining as a result that there exists an unsatisfied demand in rural areas of the canton that needs to be solved. It is concluded the need to implement a medium lift transportation system to meet and satify the existing demand of the population. It is recommended to consider the results obtained from this study as an important tool and evidence to facilitate the creation of medium lift commercial transport operators by providing them qualifying certifications.
