Reestructuración del sistema de estacionamientos de la Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo como parte del plan de movilidad sostenible

Abstract

The present study pretends to improve the current parking system in the central campus at Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo for an adequate internal vehicle regulation in benefit of the community. To reach the objective mentioned before, we proceeded to collect information about the existing parking lots, through a technical document which was prepared based on technical and the national legal system applied to this service, such as: NTE INEN 22:48, RTE INEN 004-2: 2011, RTE INEN 004-1: 2011. By processing this information, the current situation could be established about the institutional parking system, with 37 parking lots, offering a total of 649 parking spaces, 623 oriented to the regular service and 26 for the preferential population. After evaluating the information, it was possible to verify that these parking lots did not comply with the parameters established by the technical regulations mentioned before; concluding that, by specifying the current situation of the parking system, it was possible to be aware of the offer and current status that the system offers, verifying that, it does not comply with the regulations, in such a way that its restructuring is necessary. The application of this study is recommended in order to improve the parking system and contribute with the respective mobility and accessibility within the campus.
