Evaluación económica ex post del proyecto de riego colectivo tecnificado por aspersión, San Juan Cusin, Cantón Píllaro, Provincia de Tungurahua.

Abstract

This research was carried out in the San Juan Cusín irrigation project, located in the Píllaro canton, Tungurahua province, implemented by the Provincial Government of Tungurahua, the work economically evaluates the impact of the project on the population, based on a comparative methodology of data currently obtained with those of the baseline. We are based on financial indicators that establish profits and cash flow, which visualize the costs of agricultural production. The information gathering was carried out in the field through the implementation of surveys and measurements of performance in situ, interviews with farmers and consultations in neighboring markets. The economic evaluation reflected a change of 969 USD annual family income without technical irrigation versus 2,256 USD annual family income with technical irrigation. For the financial evaluation, we worked with investments that are represented by infrastructure with a value of 678,036 USD, training with 40,000 USD, user contribution with 22,000 USD and operation-maintenance with a saving of 64,638 USD, the incremental benefits agricultural whose values ​​were 694,125 for agriculture and 1,055,814 for the livestock sector. Based on these values, the financial indicators were Internal Rate of Return (IRR) 17.35%, Net Present Value (NPV) 301.399 and the B / C ratio 1.43, these values ​​clearly indicate that the presence of technical irrigation affects positively in the development of the area. It can be concluded that the yields increased, as well as the production of the area in relation to pastures and milk, the jobs with the technified irrigation scenario suffered an increase compared to the flood irrigation, the monthly income per family has been seen positively affected in the situation with project, going from a value of USD 969 family / year without project to a value of USD 1287 family / year.
