Plan de manejo integral para la gestión sostenible del Patrimonio Cultural del Centro Histórico de la ciudad de Riobamba, Provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to formulate a comprehensive management plan for the sustainable management of the cultural heritage of the Historic Center of the city of Riobamba, province of Chimborazo; the same that was developed in 3 stages: first, the elaboration of the situational diagnosis of the city of Riobamba and its historical center, through the review and analysis of information from secondary sources, and the obtaining of primary information through observation visits to the heritage sites of the historic center, interviews with key stakeholders, and surveys of the population involved. Second, the assessment of the sustainability of the heritage assets of the historic center was carried out using the evaluation matrix, made up of the fundamental aspects of sustainability: economic, environmental, social, cultural and political. Finally, the philosophical, methodological and operational approach of the plan was carried out, where 5 management strategies were developed: Habitability; Economy and Tourism; Culture, Heritage and Citizenship; Urban functionality and Security; and Environment. Premises that allow us to conclude that the comprehensive management plan for the Historic Center of Riobamba promotes the sustainable management of its cultural heritage, becoming a collective, inclusive and purposeful planning tool.
