Propuesta de mejora de las condiciones de operación para los operadores aéreos en las Islas Galápagos

Abstract

The main objective of this research work was to generate an improvement proposal for the operation conditions to the air operators in the Galapagos islands. The research was conducted by applying the methodology of quantitative approach, descriptive and explanatory levels by using both bibliographical and documental sources of information, by means of field research it was determined that the research was of a non- experimental type from which, the airlines taking part of regular domestic traffic operating routes and frequencies to Galapagos were taken as population. The direct observation technique by means of observation forms was useful to study the airlines and their routes, the efficiency of Cargo and Passengers transport and the compliance with environmental regulations. The proposal focused on two possible scenarios, the first one, proposes to distribute the routes and frequencies granted to Tame to the remaining airlines as the CNAC deems appropriate, with strategies promoting to optimize the Transit control card by means of the mobile application, usage of biofuel and repowering of the brand promoting tourism. The second scenario aims to increase frequencies to Galapagos by suggesting the entrance of a new airline with a low cost modality providing more variety to the market to make it more competitive adding the application of promotional rates for every month showing a lower number of passengers transported during the years from 2016 to 2019. It is recommended the implementation of this research by the support of authorities, including the budget for its execution.
