Valoración económica ambiental del recurso aire en el sector rural del cantón Riobamba

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop the Environmental Economic Assessment (EA) of air resources in the sector of the Riobamba canton, in Gatazo Zambrano sector. It was initially carried out by characterizing the environmental services, including the air quality of the area, through the use of monitoring information and technical reports provided by the department of Environmental Management, Health and Hygiene of the Municipal ADM of Riobamba; The Contingent Assessment Method was used for data collection in the study zone by applying a survey to 150 people, while statistical data tabulation analyses were used for data analysis and processing. These analyses provided information on the social and demographic characteristics of the zone, as well as the level of knowledge about air quality. By means of the execution of the study it was demonstrated the positive contribution that would have the population to make an approximate economic contribution of 0.65 cents by family per year this with the purpose of conserving and improving the air quality of the sector, finally a statistical analysis of projection to pay by means of the relation of the increase of vehicles in the province in the last years, with the use of the statistical software SPSS and Statgraphics was made. It is concluded that the environmental services analyzed are of great importance in the study zone and that the elaboration of the study is considered an additional economic contribution for the care and improvement of said service.
