Valoración económica ambiental del recurso suelo en la parroquia rural Pungalá

Abstract

The general objective of this work was to economically and environmentally value the soil resource of the rural Parish of Pungalá. The first point to consider was the survey of the baseline of the study area, which consisted of carrying out technical visits to the parish communities. The quality of the soil in the study area was known through analysis physical, chemical and biological in the communities of the Sectors of Puruhuay, Alao and the Parish Head where the sampling was carried out in the different land uses grass, crops, and forest, and it was observed that in the forest of the Puruhuay sector, the pH is alkaline, this is because the eucalyptus is an introduced species and not native to the area, and there is low biological respiration in the forests of the Puruhuay sector, due to the low presence of organic matter in the soil. Thematic maps of the study area were also made through the ArcGIS 10.3 program. 377 surveys were applied to evaluate the environmental services that the parish has, where an average of 8.38 / 10 considered high on the Likert scale was obtained. And finally, to obtain the total economic value of the parish, it was obtained through the sum of the 3 methods used: The Contingent method, the direct method, and the Hedonic method generating an annual economic amount for the management, care, and conservation. Of the land resource of the rural parish Pungalá of $ 3,861,052.37 per year. It is concluded that the annual income of the parish is not very high since they only produce only 3 long-cycle products per year, and the cultivation of short-cycle products is recommended to obtain higher annual income.
