Propuesta de manejo de visitantes para el aprovechamiento turístico del atractivo Volcán El Altar, tramo La Candelaria – Laguna Amarilla, Parque Nacional Sangay, provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

The present research proposes: to develop a visitor management proposal based on the study of tourist load capacity for the attractive “El Altar Volcano” section La Candelaria-Yellow Lagoon; Through the use of analytical and descriptive methods using bibliographic and field research techniques, the objective of this is to contribute to the planning and organization of tourism and conservation activities within the protected area. Work was carried out in three stages: in the first one the tourist diagnosis of the attraction was developed, where the offer analysis was determined within which three ecosystem maps were made, where five types of ecosystems were determined, in hydrography and relief, it has a type soil Inceptisol this was generated by base mapping in the GIS ArcGis 10.3, then the attraction inventory on the site was made, which has five natural-type attractions, of which four are current and one is potential. Besides, the trail presents insufficiency in tourist facilities, in terms of infrastructure, the site has services such as piped water, nearby health centers, telephony, and daily public transport frequencies, regarding the demand analysis the visitor profile was determined on which was done through national and foreign tourist surveys. The second stage corresponds to the process of determining the tourist capacity of the site is CCF = 7378 visitors per day, in CCR = 252 visitors⁄day and finally, the CCE = 11.6 visits⁄day, in addition to the correction factors identified as more relevant are: waterlogging (0.89), precipitation (0.56), erodability (0.90) and accessibility (0.80%); and subsequently a SWOT and CAME confrontation matrix was carried out, to generate, the possible strategies: important defensive, offensive, reorientation and survival in the study area.
