Estudio de factibilidad para la implementación de un sistema de bicicletas públicas en el cantón Guano, provincia de Chimborazo

Abstract

The technical study for the implementation of a public bike system in Guano canton, aims to reduce the traffic jam and thus facilitate the sustainable mobility. The research was carried out on the population that lives in Guano canton head through origin-destination surveys, in order to determine the generating points and attractors of trips, the type of transport most used, the reason for the trip, variables that prevent the use of the bike. The study was based on international manuals and especially on the technical guide for the design and construction of bike paths in the medium-sized cities of Ecuador and thanks to this it was possible to build the different routes that the system will have, as well as the number, location of the stations and parking lots that are going to form the entire public bike system. It could be seen there is no a cycle network that connects the city of Guano Canton currently, so the construction of three routes is proposed, in addition to a total of 6 stations that will be located at points of greatest conglomeration of people, 16 parking lots which are going to be located in generating points and attractors of trips and finally the number of bikes that will be needed according to the number of inhabitants which is 67 bikes. It is recommended to local authorities that they should be interested in projects of bike paths since they will help the mobility of the city, in addition to performing a constant and adequate maintenance of the roads for the implementation of the bike path in order to provide security to the cyclist and move in a better way to carry out their daily activities
