Diseño del Área de Farmacotecnia para el servicio de Farmacia del Hospital Gineco Obstétrico Pediátrico de Nueva Aurora “Luz Elena Arismendi” en la ciudad de Quito.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to design the area of pharma technology for the pharmacy service of the Luz Elena Arismendi Pediatric Obstetrics Gynecological Hospital in Quito city. This design resulted from the elaboration of a baseline on the need to implement a pharma technology area for master and office formulations so that surveys were applied to medical, nursing, and pharmacy personnel. The pharmacotherapeutic profiles of Neonatology and Pediatrics services during the period April-June 2018, were necessary to characterize the master and office formulations with the highest demand in these services in addition to the minimum requirements necessary for the implementation of this area through a file of observation based on the parameters established by the Agencia Nacional de Regulación, Control y Vigilancia Sanitaria (ARCSA) and by Sociedad Española de Farmacia Hospitalaria (SEFH). With the results obtained was evidenced that of the surveyed population, 69.77% know what the term "non-sterile master preparations" refers to and through the observation sheet, it was identified that the indicated physical space complies with the necessary parameters of infrastructure and has the required human talent, through this evaluation a plan of the area was designed, within which each zone is delimited, according to the space designated by the hospital authorities and according to this the Standard Operating Procedures were drafted that will be necessary for this area, with this research it was possible to design a pharma technology area with scientific foundations that will allow covering several needs of the patients improving their care and safety. The HGONA authorities are recommended to implement the area of pharma technology by taking the necessary actions to fulfill the proposal described in this research project.
