Gestión De calidad en el proceso de manejo y control de productos farmacéuticos en la Unidad de Medicamentos e insumos médicos del Hospital Básico “La Guadalupana” Ambato.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to achieve a quality management in the process of handling and controlling pharmaceutical products in the Unit of medicines and medical supplies of the Basic Hospital "La Guadalupana", in order to provide a situational diagnosis, verify the action, performance and control in reception, storage and dispensing processes. An analysis of the functionality of the system was carried out in the area that comprises the pharmacy unit, verifying the existence of failures in the same, so the data proceeded to be collected through a survey applied to all the professionals who are related to the area of pharmacy. The fulfillment of the functions of the personnel was verified in relation to the reception, storage, control of registration of medicines, registration for stocks in the pharmacy, suitable verification for medicines and medical supplies through the application of the FEFO system, expiration control, and control in high-risk medications, management and control of psychotropic and narcotic drugs. Then, the Standardized Work Protocols and the socialization of results were prepared, achieving a favorable change with a success of 85% in all the parameters evaluated. Using the statistic of the applied test, it was determined that there was a significant change between what happened before and after the management applied during the corresponding investigation, for which it was possible to generate a favorable change by including documents as guides in the processes within the pharmacy, the same that will provide: information, security, guarantees for a good service and also optimize resources. Training and continuous updating of the protocols obtained are recommended.
