Desarrollo e Implementación de un Sistema Estadístico Informático para Construcción y Análisis de Indicadores de Salud en la Dirección Provincial de Salud Chimborazo.

Abstract

"A Statistical - Computer system for calculating and analyzing health indexes at health Provincial Direction of Chimborazo was done. This software was implemented with the Visual Studio. NET 2005 program. Its data base was done with SQL 2000. It has been done through statistical techniques whit health indicator formulas; — for example, general mortality rate, specific mortality rate, vaccination covering, morbidity indexes, hospital indexes, and computer methods as programs oriented towards objects and web services. Web services will always be available in the web any time for any change that needs to be done in the implemented software. As a final product the software which was named SIAGEMPS version 1.0 (Automated System to Generate Statistical in the MSP). The following indexes were obtained: general mortality rate in the whole province 4% per 1000 patients; specific mortality rate IRA 1.5% which is a cause for most deaths registered in the province. Vaccination indicators 76% of children

received vaccine S.R.P, 100% of children received prevalent vaccine, and 61% of

¡Idren received BCG vaccine province.

Software SIAGEMPS 1.0 has a reliable handling of the data and to have them when they require them to him; it allows us to generate indexes of health in quick and effective form, saving time and resources for the taking of decisions. For what is recommended to implant the software in all the existent areas of health in the county to

facilitate the handling of data obtained in the different Operative Units of Health."
