Aplicación de un Diseño Estadístico de Experimentos a los Ensayos Realizados en la Unidad de Nogocios Propagación, El Quinche.

Abstract

"The objective of this research was to improve seeding processes and quality of ornamental plants. In order to do this, the statistical technique known as EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN was applied in the trials done at the HILSEA INVESTMENTS LIMITED Unidad de Negocio PROPAGACIÓN, located in Quinche, Province of Pichincha. Materials such as chemical and organic substances, substrates and temperature variation were used. In order to make the best decisions about the target variable observation, measurement, and data collection were developed.

This research shows practical applications of the design made at random, and factorial experiments. Some problems about production were determined among others: Low seed germinating efficiency because of substrate problems. After i correction, 15% efficiency was increased, and at least 20 grams of root mass was incremented in cultivation. This was done by combining factors properly during sowing 8.2% of general productivity was incremented. The cost of the exportable plant was reduced from USD 3.22 to 2.84/Ha.

MINITAB statistical software was used to improve results comprehension of these experimental techniques.

It is recommended the usage of factorial experiments to improve product quality process."
