Descripción dendrológica y anatómica de tres especies de importancia forestal, procedentes del Bosque Análogo Don Ramón, en el cantón Cumandá, provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

The present investigation proposes: dendrolow and anatomical description Of three species Of forest importance, from the "Don Ramón" Analogue Forest, in Cumandá cantón, Chimborazo province; in order to implement information regarding the identification Of forest species that serve as exploitation and as conservation. The species that were collected were identified in the Herbarium Of the Escuela Superior politécnica de Chimborazo (CHEP); for the description Of the macroscopic characteristics, the Woods were dried at room temperature for 45 days, then 2x9x15 cm specimens sized, in which the characteristics were observed as: taste, smell, texture, luster, grain, veining, brightness, colour Of sapwood and heartwood. For the microscopic characteristics cubes Of 2 cm were obtained for each edge, these were subjected in the autoclave for its softening, With a temperature of 121 0 C and a pressure Of 11.61 atm. C. canjerana and G. ptemrhachis were softened in 3 cycles, while A. darienense was softened in 4 cycles, this was due to the hardness Of the species, cuts were made in cross section, tangential and radial in the microtome with a 3 um calibration; the sheets stained With Safranin, Blue NO. 1. Methylene blue and malachite green, the plates were assembled and the different sections were observed in the microscope. Finally, a comparison Of the stains With respect to the transverse, tangential and radial planes ofthe different species was made, an assessment of 1 was iven in the characteristics that if they were observed With the application Of the dyes and 0 in the characteristics that did not lt was Observed.
