Correlación del diagnóstico preoperatorio y hallazgos en laparotomias y laparoscopias exploratoria realizadas en el Hospital General Puyo año 2018

Abstract

The following investigation's objective was to correlate the presurgical diagnosis and postoperative findings in Exploratory Laparotomies versus Diagnostic Laparoscopies to determine the existence of significant differences between both procedures, besides establishing the preoperative and postoperative diagnoses by which the intervention was performed, knowing to what extent the imaging studies contributed to the diagnosis and identify the main causes of acute surgical abdomen in the Hospital General Puyo in the period January - December 2018. The investigation to be carried out is of the descriptive, transversal, observational type, the data of the patients will be collected through the clinical Histories and the follow-up of the matrix carried in the service of Surgery, to then tabulate the data. It evaluated 130 patients who consulted for abdominal pain, of which 41 patients were submitted to Exploratory Laparotomy and 16 to Diagnostic Laparoscopy, the evaluation of the postoperative diagnoses revealed for the Exploratory Laparotomy and Laparoscopy diagnostic the following values, respectively: the diagnosis was confirmed in 6% and 5% the diagnosis was perfected in 56% and 85%, the diagnosis was made in 19% and 2% and the diagnosis was changed in 19% and 7%. In conclusion, there is no doubt about the benefits of laparoscopy in performing better surgeries with minimal invasion, however, the absolute contraindications of this procedure make laparotomy a current treatment option. Further, it is recommended subsequent studies with a larger sample that allows a higher estimate of the significant differences between Exploratory Laparotomy and Diagnostic Laparoscopy.
