Propuesta de mejoramiento de rutas y frecuencias del transporte público urbano para la ciudad de Riobamba, provincia de Chimborazo

Abstract

The present title work called “ Proposal for improvement of Urban Public Transportation routes and frequencies for the city of Riobamba, Chimborazo Province”, has the purpose of redesigning the routes and frequencies of public transportation of Riobamba. For the development of this work we used the information that is based on the Comprehensive Plan for the improvement of urban Public Transportation for the municipal Autonomous Decentralized Government of Riobamba. The methodology of the National Transit Agency was also used, according to the resolution N0. 108-DIR-2016-ANT, which refers to the referential techniques guidelines for the management of intracantonal terrestrial transportation competition. Once the specific information of the Integral Plan was examined and the same one applied, it was evident that the transportation line # 8 has a coverage of 30%, and the transportation line # 12 has a coverage of 12%. Once analyzed the current situation and applied the methodology of the National Transit Agency, it was concluded that the redesigned transportation lines now cover more than their coverage and according to the dimensioning of their transportation cooperative, they need approximately the increase of 5 transportation units to cover its dissatisfied demand. It is recommended that the executives of the Directorate of Transportation, Terrestrial, Traffic and Road safety of Riobamba Canton, periodically carry out an evaluation of the routes and frequencies of Urban Public Transportation as it has to do with coverage due to population growth.
