Abstract

This research work called "Technical study to define the commercial transport fee, taxi modality in San Miguel canton, Bolívar province", is intended to regulate a fair remuneration for conventional taxi service. For that reason, the resolution No. 073-DIR-2014- ANT was taken as a source guide, because of that, a registration form to obtain actual data was applied to taxi drivers according to the terms of the provision of transport service, so they provide a truthful information to comply with the proposed. Within the analysis of information, there was collected data as: average daily rides (short, intermediate and long) in the canton, the average number of miles travelled by each car, the average daily fuel consumption (extra fuel) and the most important thing that in a general way is detailed for this calculation, that is preventive and corrective maintenance of the work vehicle. Therefore, the operational costs (fixed, variable and capital) which are immersed in the final outcome of a fair and regulated fee according to the conditions of the study area of San Miguel canton. As a result of the investigation, it was found that the minimum fee ride in the city is 1.20 USD daytime and 1.30 USD overnight. Once the study was carried out, it was concluded that the fee increased by 0.20 USD and a 25 % more than the normal remuneration for the nightly fee, these values will contribute to taxi drivers in order to obtain a fair profit through the provision of taxi service. At the same time, it is recommended that currently authorities socialize about the regulated fee to managers and citizens.
